Herts Chamber Digital Boot Camp

Right, I would like a bit of audience participation please. Get you up on your feet. Let’s get some blood pumping. There’s a large proportion in the group here that believes that Google Ads doesn’t work. So this the outcome we want to come with, that Google Ads DOES work. And it is able to help to fill your book, fill your leads, fill your inquiries. That’s the outcome that we’re going to be looking to hopefully achieve. However, Google Ads isn’t for everybody. It works for some businesses but it doesn’t work for everybody. It is what you do with it, that is the bit that makes the difference. Modern Technique, Erm, Some of the things here Breathing problem, asthma, well we’re not looking at that. This is about a sweat treatment, it’s not relevant. whereas, in the top ad you can see the telephone number Great, a local company. company, I want to work with this business, book your free consultation today. Erm, you’ve got a reference to the keyword in this particular URL string, so you can see that it’s all about thinking what are the paying points of this particular person that’s searching let’s make that come to life, and let’s look at what the competitors are saying and makes sure that we’re just one more step attractive than them. So what am I going to talk about today is how you go about turning your website from being a passive portfolio, into something that’s actually going to generate leads for your business. So, how many people here, have been guilty of googling themselves to find out how good their ranking? before, they’re ranking on page one, but actually, they’re on page eight. They Google themselves so much, that Google thinks they must love this website. [LAUGHTER] It keeps giving them the same website, we also actually have, some of our clients actually that are constantly googling their competitors. they ring me and say “why are my competitors ranking better than me?” like, who are on your computer. So shockingly nearly half, so forty-five percent of businesses don’t have a digital marketing stategy. Yet they are doing digital marketing. I hear quite often So, all our leads come through referrals! “We don’t need to focus on the website.” So actually, if you re-read that again What I actually hear when people say that is that ‘We don’t invest any time on our website, therefore we don’t actually generate as many leads. So there’s not actually don’t, I can’t think of a single business that wouldn’t benefit from investing in our website and wouldn’t actually generate leads. from investing in their website and raising their profile online. Erm, Who here watched a video on YouTube yesterday? hands up. Well, I take a look at the room and that is more than half, I mean that is understandably, and blows my mind I have another question How many hours of video do you think are watched on YouTube every day? Any guesses? Well, it is five hundred million hours of content is getting viewed every day and that’s just on YouTube, forget Vemo, forget all the other platforms. That’s just on YouTube alone. So, this is a platform you can’t afford to be ignoring And we’ll just talk through a few of these because within this slide and the next one, I think is every reason that you should be considering video for your business Marketers who use video, grow revenue forty-nine percent faster than those who don’t. And the other interesting one, fifty-nine percent of executives say that if they’ve got a choice between watching something on a video or reading the text of it, they’re gonna watch the video. Once you’ve got a video on there, people are something like three times less likely to click away from the site once they’ve got the video throughout the time it increases massively and the more likely they are to click on to other pages of your website. Particularly, if you’ve got a call to action at the end of the video, then there isn’t a video on that page so all the metrics say if you’ve got a video on there it’s gonna keep people on your website for much longer and more effectively. Erm, Google likes websites that are constantly trying to engage people, that love maintain, that look like they’re being loved. That are kind of like improving themselves all of the time.
